About Arca Noctis

At our heart, we are a loosely knit team of authors, artists, and scholars who have spent — literally — hundreds of weekends exploring every corner of these United States. We love to explore the arts and sciences that exist beyond the edge. We focus on the things that inspire us — the curious, the odd and the obscure — everything from Victoriana and curiosity collections to forgotten crafts like cartomancy, palmistry and rune study. Sounds like your thing? Stop in for a bit and get lost with us.

Liam Ashe

A lifelong lover of the darker side of history, William Ashe grew up on the legends and folk tales of his family’s Scottish and Scandinavian heritage. This evolved into an interest in urban myths, true crime, and abandoned places. Few things pique his interest more than an old dirt road that leads to a forgotten cemetery, a ramshackle homestead, or the promise of an unexpected adventure. The Haunts & Hollows series shares these adventures with like-minded souls who find joy in the journey.

When home, Liam is a silversmith and jewelry expert focusing on Celtic sterling, antique Scottish, and Victorian mourning collections. Most weekends you can find him at a Highlands games, Scottish festival, or comic con all along the East Coast of the US.

In his free time, he is the author of several series, including mysteries featuring professional researcher and historian Elle Cunningham Mackay and the Arca Noctis series of thrillers starring curiosity store owner Emery Vaughn.

Aria Cain

Like many Southern writers, Aria Cain grew up amidst the silent crossroads and forgotten corners of backwater America. A recluse by nature, she found her voice in the haint tales and ghost stories of Appalachian folklore.

For several years she has worked as a folklore researcher. She finds life in this oral heritage and works to preserve and share it. Some readers may recognize threads from these stories woven throughout her books.
